Sony Slashes PS3 Price – Announces Slim PS3
Almost in the same breath Sony has announced that they are slashing the MSRP for the PS3 a whopping $100 and provided a release date for the new PS3 slim model. Unfortunately it appears that whoever made the decisions about what price tag and specs to put in each of these didn’t realize that the announcement will make anyone with a brain wait a couple extra weeks for the slim at the same price.
Not only will both models have the same price, but the new slim will have a new 120GB drive instead of the original 80GB size.
The writers over at engadget have the full story and some nice images of the new slim model. I recommend checking them out here and here.
